Researchers think it may change the way your brain’s receptors respond to serotonin, a chemical linked to mental health. Receptors are tiny proteins attached to your cells that communicate chemical messages and assist your cells reply to different stimuli.
There are multiple of current clinical trials that are evaluating the benefits of CBD for a variety of disorders, pain, anxiety, PTSD, etc.
A 2015 review of 49 studies found evidence that “strongly supported” CBD as a treatment for anxiety disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and PTSD.
